James Attwood Wins 2023 World Compak Sporting Championship

Huge congratulations to 2023 World Compak Sporting Champion & CENS Shooter, James Attwood. Runner-up Mark Winser & James were neck and neck all week with seven 25 straights each and both missed the same target on their final layout for 199/200 matching the highest ever score in a World Compak championship!

Here are a few words from the World Champion himself:

“World compak champion 2023 is still a surreal feeling, and certainly an emotional one. My first world title. This has been one of my goals since I began competitively shooting, after being so close on several occasions and long shoot offs I’ve finally done it. When we arrived in Greece the weather wasn’t the best but the horrendous storm did clear at the right time ready for the comp to start, and what a comp it was too.I managed to finish off with a 199/200, ending the week joint with Mark Winser . The shoot off for🥇 and 🥈 place commenced! Another layout of sim pairs with me finishing with 24/25 was enough to bring me out on top.

I want to say big well done to Ellie Jones for shooting so well at her first world compak. Tristan Hockey Clay Shooting and the other juniors for bringing home the 🥇 and congratulations to all other medal winners and teams! Every layout was faultless and ran like clockwork. Varied, creative targets kept the competition fair and interesting for every participant. Well done Jamie Peckham and all of the Promatic team for making that happen!
Need a big Thanks to Gamebore Cartridges, GMK – Karl Waktare and CENS digital for all their continued support. This year has been one of my most consistent seasons of shooting, coming runner up at the English open and shooting the highest score at the British open. Plus finishing the year off with a world title is a dream come true. I would like to say a massive thank you to my best and closest friends Nathan Skinner James Bradley-Day Phill Gray Catherine Smalley Todd Bridge Tristan Hockey, Laurent Fava and Kelly Hockey (who has the hardest job of babysitting us all) for not only supporting me every time we go out shooting but help to drive me to be the best I can be!”
